"Perfect location but had some issues."

-Perfect location! Quiet and well-lit street at night. 5 min. walk to Gran Via., 10 min. walk to Puerta del Sol, 5 min. walk to Calle Fuencarral/Chueca.

-The apartment is very spacious with a lovely balcony (my favorite feature).-Kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, etc.

-The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a 4 story walk-up without an elevator. So we had to carry our luggage up 70 steps of stairs.

-There is no phone in the apartment. Yes, everyone has a cellphone nowadays but for tourists like us who do not have international roaming we had to look for a pay phone to confirm our flight and call for an airport shuttle. Wireless and wired internet connection is readily available though.

-Bathroom is nice and sufficient. The old and moldy shower curtain needs to be replaced. No robe hooks.

-The bed, bedding and pillows are not very comfortable and need to be changed. The sliding doors to the bedroom from the living room is faced with glass so some daylight will come through in the morning. If you are the type who likes to sleep in the dark then this might be an issue.

Overall, a good place to rent but it ain’t the Ritz!
