We walked everywhere - from Sofia Reina museum to the Chueca arts district, from Calle Gran Vie’s “Broadway” to the flamenco district, from the markets of San Miguel to the Sunday flea market. El Cortes Ingles is a ten minute walk but there is a corner grocery with most everything we needed down the block. And when we needed to get around Madrid a little faster the Metro was three blocks away and easy to use. Four bedrooms was great. We stayed in winter so enjoyed good heat. Apt has “character”, Balconies are great, even in winter we used them a lot. Kitchen is functional, has the basics for cooking and eating in but desperately needed a knife that could cut bread, meat, and vegetables. However the coffee maker and the wine opener worked just fine. Drying laundry in winter required creative use of the heated towel bars. The outside clothesline has not been used in years and is in disrepair. Check in and early check out were easy and pleasant. We made use of the maps and guides left by other tenants.
