"Brilliant apartment in City Centre"

What a brilliant apartment this is. The first thing that strikes you is its location: on a side street right next to the Plaza Mayor and the Mercado San Miguel (a huge tapas market: see video on youtube) and about 200 metres from the Sol Metro station. I can’t imagine a better position. It is up seven flights of stairs, and had no lift so this might not suit if you have mobility or fitness problems.
Inside, the apartment has style, real style, with really interesting light fittings and artwork. Beautiful and ancient shutters lead out onto a narrow balcony overlooking a laneway that leads straight into the Plaza Mayor. Well outfitted kitchen (although a drip filter coffee machine or french press would be nice) that let us make our own dinners/breakfasts when we wanted. Bathroom with plenty of hot water for the three of us. A choice of a sofa bed and a single fold out bed were available for our son, while we slept in the loft bedroom, which is up a spiral staircase and looks up the entrance corridor and over the living area.
Very easy to deal with the agent, Manuel, but we really didn’t have to contact him other than the start and end of our holiday. We only wish that we could have stayed longer.
